In addition to continuing his duties as a Senior Partner for Watson Spence LLP handling employment and healthcare law, Louis will assume a legal role with a children’s charitable organization.
After more than a decade of supporting non-profit Sunrise Children’s Services with their hearts, finances, and gifts, Louis and his wife, Ovaline, are becoming directly involved in providing services to the organization. Beginning with the first of the year, Louis will become Vice President of Strategic and Legal Affairs for Sunrise, and Ovaline will become involved on a volunteer basis with various facets of Sunrise’s services. In addition to being one of the largest facilitators of adoptions and foster care in the State of Kentucky, Sunrise operates facilities offering around-the-clock services to children with severe emotional and behavioral problems and residential therapeutic programs for children who come from homes of abuse and neglect. Additionally, Sunrise offers assistance with housing, food, clothing, education, and employment to those who are aging out of foster care but who are without family or other support.
“I am thrilled to be following God’s call to become more involved with an organization that is committed to living out Scripture’s mandate of compassion and love to those who are most helpless and most in need, and we hope this will ultimately facilitate the introduction of such services to our South Georgia community,” said Louis. “In addition to my new role, I will continue to work with Watson Spence—where I have invested the past 26 years—on employment and healthcare law and assisting with major litigation. I am excited to begin a new venture while remaining a dedicated part of the Watson Spence family.”
