Tyerus "Tye" Skala’s practice revolves around commercial litigation, which ranges from advising clients on employment matters, representing individuals and businesses in complex business disputes, and defending healthcare providers and institutions in professional negligence cases.
Tye joined Watson Spence after obtaining his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. In law school, Tye served as Executive Editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law, participated in multiple externships with state and federal judges, provided legal assistance to indigent people in the Athens-Clarke community at UGA Law's Public Interest Practicum, and was published in the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in History, magna cum laude, while also commissioning into the Georgia Army National Guard as a Distinguished Military Graduate from one of the six Senior Military Colleges---the University of North Georgia---as a Military Intelligence Officer, where he served for over ten years.
At Watson Spence, Tye assists clients with everyday issues arising from state and federal employment laws to ensure compliance, while also advocating on behalf of employers and employees alike in state and federal court. Additionally, Tye works with individuals and businesses in other areas of civil litigation, including business disputes, contract negotiations, professional negligence, and commercial litigation.
When he is not zealously advocating for his clients, Tye enjoys working out, spending time with his wife, Analhi (and their two pups), and supporting UGA football and Manchester United F.C. He and his wife attend St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Americus, Georgia, where they both grew up.
