Summer Cotten specializes in real estate law, focusing primarily on commercial real estate transactions, agricultural real estate sales and acquisitions, and residential real estate closings. Summer joined Watson Spence in 2021, after a year of serving as lender’s counsel for commercial real estate transactions at a large Atlanta firm. She graduated from the University of Florida's Levin College School of Law in the top five percent of her class. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, and an Honors College Certificate (summa cum laude) from Valdosta State University.

While pursuing her undergraduate degrees, Summer participated in many activities, including Steele Business Scholar, Honors Scholar, and served as an intern for the American Association of Christian Schools' DC office, where she focused on lobbying on behalf of private education. During law school, she served as Senior Articles Editor for The Florida Law Review and participated in Doing Business in China, a short-term study abroad to Shanghai and Hong Kong that focused on cross border transactions. Summer also completed a Semester in Practice in-house at Flowers Foods and summer at Jones Day's Atlanta office.

Outside of work, Summer enjoys spending time with her husband, Bradford, at their family farm. She is a member of First United Methodist Church and serves as a Trustee of the Albany Museum of Art and on the Board of Directors of the ARC of Southwest Georgia.
