With a focus on complex commercial, consumer, and product liability litigation and white-collar investigations and defense, Luke Andrews has designed and executed legal strategies saving clients hundreds of millions of dollars in high-stakes matters across the country.
As trial counsel, he has led teams to victory in big-stakes cases in state and federal courts and other tribunals. As an appellate lawyer, he has conceived and delivered innovative arguments and transformed clients’ fortunes.
Luke specializes in working with expert witnesses. He has strategized with scores of experts in sophisticated disciplines, helping them frame complex thoughts in effective, courtroom form. And he has a genuine passion for cross-examination of opposing experts, exposing errors and misstatements and frequently persuading them to alter or even completely recant and withdraw their opinions.
He has prevailed as lead trial counsel in cases including medical malpractice, construction, and consumer actions as well as a pro bono defense of a non-profit service provider. In addition, Luke developed essential expert testimony contributing to victories in two major national lead paint cases. He also crafted emergency appellate briefs to obtain expedited relief from a state supreme court, saving the client millions of dollars.
Luke devised successful class certification arguments and briefs in cases ranging from the Telephone Consumer Protection Act to federal and state securities matters.
Luke is a Master with the Lamar Inn of Court and former board member of Action Ministries, Inc. He received his J.D. from Emory Law School, with distinction, order of the coif, in 1998, and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1991 with a B.A., cum laude, in Russian Language and Literature. He is proficient in spoken and written Russian.
Luke and his wife Brenda have three grown children and are parishioners at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Atlanta. In his free time, Luke is a published poet and enjoys reading, foreign languages, and distance running. (He ran a sub-three-hour marathon and finished in the top 100 in the Peachtree Road Race after age 42.)
