Since becoming partner in 2003, Attorney Bo Plowden’s practice has focused on commercial and residential real estate and business law, providing a variety of services to residential, commercial, and agricultural lenders, as well as real estate developers. Bo handles commercial and residential loan closings, in addition to a host of unique loan and secured transaction services for several national agribusinesses.

Among his clients are SunTrust Mortgage, Bank of America Mortgage, Synovus Mortgage, HeritageBank of the South, Golden Peanut Company, Birdsong Corporation and McCleskey Mills, Inc. He also serves as an authorized agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company.

Bo felt the need to become specialized in food safety so that he could better serve the needs of numerous clients in the agriculture industry. Taking the Keller and Heckman Practical Food Law program in California, he became an expert in the Food Safety Modernization Act.

An Albany native, Bo graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1989 with a Bachelors Degree in Management. After working for Total Systems & Services, Inc. in Columbus, Ga., Bo moved back to Atlanta to attend law school at Georgia State University. He received his J.D. degree in 1995, after which he returned home to Albany and joined Watson Spence LLP as an associate in real estate.

He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1995 and is a member of the State Bar's Real Property Section, as well as the American Bar Association. He also served as general counsel for the Albany Board of Realtors from 1999-2011.

Bo and his wife, Alison, have three sons and are members of the Porterfield United Methodist Church in Albany. Bo is a dedicated father to Will, Banks and Evans and enjoys watching them excel in their activities and sports. Between the 3 sons, Bo spends most of his spare time at the football or baseball field, at swim meets or at wrestling matches.
