Bo Plowden, an Albany native, graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1989 with a Bachelors Degree in Management. After working for Total Systems & Services, Inc. in Columbus, Ga., he returned to Atlanta and attended law school at Georgia State University, receiving his J.D. degree in 1995. He then returned home to Albany to join Watson Spence LLP as an associate in real estate. Bo became a partner in the firm in 2003. His practice focuses on commercial and residential real estate and business law, providing a variety of services to residential, commercial, and agricultural lenders, and real estate developers. He also handles commercial and residential loan closings, as well as a host of unique loan and secured transaction services for several national agribusinesses.
Among his clients are SunTrust Mortgage, Bank of America Mortgage, Synovus Mortgage, Heritage Bank, Golden Peanut Company, Birdsong Corporation and McCleskey Mills, Inc. He also serves as an authorized agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company and Lawyers Title Insurance Company.
With his numerous agriculture clients Bo has become an expert is food safety. Taking the Keller and Heckman Practical Food Law program in California, he learned all the ins and outs of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1995 and is a member of the State Bar's Real Property Section, as well as the American Bar Association. He also serves as general counsel for the Albany Board of Realtors.
Bo and his wife, Alison, have three sons and are members of the Porterfield United Methodist Church in Albany. |
